Perinatal Substance Use Disorder Resources

Substance Use Disorders (SUD) can affect anyone, at any time in their life, including during pregnancy and postpartum. In fact, approximately 50% of all Americans have a family member with SUD. Since 1999, opioid use in women has increased by 300%, and opioid use disorder among pregnant women has quadrupled.

The stigma of substance use disorder is a significant barrier to treatment, especially among women and mothers. For more information about SUD trends and rates, click HERE.

Substance Use Disorder is a disease. If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out for support. Many programs, including The Haven (information below) allow families to stay together and heal together, while the mother receives treatment. Help and hope ARE available.
