Region 8 Doula Directory
A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to their client before, during and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. For many hospitals in Region 8, doulas are considered part of the care team, and not a guest of yours… which means more support for you during your birth!
Many scientific studies show that doula care improves physical and psychological outcomes for both pregnant, birthing, and postpartum people and their baby. Doulas have a positive impact on the well-being of the entire family. Click HERE to read one of those studies.
Steps to finding and choosing a doula:
-
Use the Region 8 Doula Directory below to find a doula near you
While SWMPQIC fully supports the role of the doula, we do not endorse any one doula on our directory list. We believe in providing the birthing person and their family the information on who is available in their area, so that they can make their own educated and informed decision on which doula is right for them.
Medicaid enrolled doulas listed here are from the MDHHS Doula Registry. SWMPQIC does not verify training, experience, or any credentials for any doula or birth service. Doulas listed here, are listed by the county they are located in. They may serve additional areas. Contact the doula directly for details. If you have questions about including doula care into your perinatal journey, contact your healthcare provider.
